BSides Canberra 2026 Call-for-Presentations & Call-for-Events

[OVERVIEW]
BSides Canberra 2026 will run 24–26 September 2026 at the National Convention Centre in Canberra, Australia. BSides Canberra is an opportunity to showcase your novel research, discoveries, tools, or ideas to a large crowd of 3,500+ delegates from across the hacker and security community.

[TOPICS of INTEREST]
BSides Canberra is a hacker conference focused on deep technical understanding of systems, computing, and security. While many talks relate to cyber security, submissions do not need to be strictly security focused.

We welcome submissions across a broad range of technical topics including (but not limited to):
- vulnerability research and exploitation
- reverse engineering
- hardware hacking and embedded systems
- operating systems internals
- networking and protocols
- cryptography
- software analysis and tooling
- novel debugging, fuzzing or research techniques
- interesting technical deep dives into complex systems

If you enjoy breaking things to understand how they work, we want to hear about it.

BSides Canberra does not seek or accept money to secure a speaking spot or host an event. Participation in the conference program is earned through careful consideration by our CFP review board. When submitting your proposal, please elaborate as much as possible on your talk or event so the review board can properly understand what you plan to present or run. First time speaking? BSides Canberra strongly encourages first-time speakers and new voices. If you have interesting research, a technical deep dive, or something cool you built or broke, we’d love to hear about it.

[TRACKS]
Main Track - Showcasing cutting-edge techniques, novel research, and new tools. These talks are typically deep technical dives for experienced practitioners.
Off-Main Track - Complementary talks that may be more niche, experimental, community-focused, or exploratory in nature.
Careers Village - Talks designed to inform and inspire people entering cyber security or moving within the industry.
Events - We are also accepting submissions for events and activities to run during the conference. These may include technical demonstrations, community activities, workshops, hacking challenges, interactive experiences, or other ideas that bring something unique to BSides Canberra.

[SPEAKER/EVENT HOST BENEFITS]
If your talk or event is selected, you will receive a speaker/event host badge that grants free access to BSides Canberra. Speaking at BSides Canberra is a great way to meet others interested in your topic. BSides Canberra will promote your presentation and link to your social media, blog, or website if you wish.

Before BSides Canberra there will be a speaker dinner. Main Track speakers will be invited to meet the CFP review team and other speakers before the conference begins. After BSides Canberra, with your approval, professionally recorded presentations may be shared on our YouTube channel, website, and social media.

[CFP SUBMISSION]
Talks will be 55 minutes or 25 minutes, including questions. All submissions must be made through the CFP submission platform. Submitting early helps give the CFP review team more time to review your proposal and increases the chance of your talk being selected.

Submissions open on 2026-04-01 00:00 (Australia/Sydney).
