  last couple of years making them closer than ever. In the security commun
 ity\, this often leads to discussions about how a quantum computer could b
 e used to attack today’s conventional computers.\nHowever\, what about t
 he other side – as quantum systems are used for various other applicatio
 ns\, what are the security threats to those systems\, how might someone at
 tack them\, and how should we secure them?\nThe technology may still appea
 r distant\, but now is the time for cybersecurity to play a leading role\,
  to ensure that we have the confidence to use these technologies and apply
  them to novel areas.\nIn this talk we will review the potential applicati
 ons for quantum computing and networking\, the threat models to consider\,
  how a hacker might attack the system and what we need to do defend them.
